Broadway Grosses: Primo Wins Praise and Prosperity

A solo Holocaust drama does not exactly sound like typical Broadway summer fare, but Primo, which is enjoying a very limited engagement at the Music Box Theatre through August 14, is proving a success. The piece, starring Antony Sher as Auschwitz survivor Primo Levi, has been selling plenty of tickets since it opened to rave reviews on July 12. Last week it took in $413,944 in seven regular performances--a substantial stat for a one-person play.
